Format & Eligibility

Entry Procedure

Age Groups

This qualifier is open to Mississippi junior golfers 18 years of age and under. National advancement will be limited to A and B divisions only. There will be 1 female and 3 male players to advance to the National Big I at Del Paso Country Club.

 

If anyone younger wishes to try and qualify for national, they must play up in these divsions. National advancement limited to A & B division only.

 

When you arrive at the tournament site, please check in at the table located outside of the pro shop.

 

Out of State Players Rule:

Out of state players are welcome to participate in the event, however, players from states that hold Trusted Choice Qualifiers will be playing for trophies only. Players from states that do not have Trusted Choice qualifiers that finish in the top three in boys and top two in girls will NOT take a spot from a Mississippi player, however the state committee will apply for an exemption to the National Tournament on his or her behalf. However, in no way is this exemption guaranteed and is up to the National Committee and will require a tournament resume from the perspective player.

Lunch will be provided following your round on Wednesday and Thursday.

A Division 16-18 Year Old

B Division 14-15 Year Old

C Division 12-13 Year Old

D Division 10-11 Year Old

E Division 9 and under

Girls Division 13-18 Year Old

Girls Division D 10-12 Year Old

 

Points:

MJGA Points will be awarded to Mississippi Players who are MJGA members.

Junior Golf Scoreboard Points will be awarded to all particpants.

 

AJGA:

AJGA stars will awarded to all players, if the tournament meets their guidelines.

 

Division Format

Boys Division A 16-18 year olds, Boys Division B 14-15 year olds:  these groups will play 36 holes from a tee measuring 6,600- 7,000 yards in total course length.  Boys Division C 12-13 year olds and Girls Division 13-18 will play 36 holes from a tee measuring 5,800-6,000 yards in total course length.  Boys Division D 10-11 year olds and Girls Division D 10-12 will play 18 holes from the forward tees.  Girls and Boys Division E 9 and Under will play 9 holes from 100-300 yards per hole and may have a caddie.

 

Division A, B, and C will play 18 holes each day, Division D and E will play 9 holes each day.

No carts will be available for the practice round. the last practice round tee time will be 3pm.

Monday, June 19 the Carr Haskins Memorial Long Drive Competition will take place. Please make plans to attend. More details to follow.

 

Rules and Regulations

All entrants agree to abide by all MJGA Rules and Regulations concerning dress codes, gentlemanly conduct on the Club premises and course beverage policies. Individuals may not bring beverages on the club premises. Contestants (and their caddies) are to observe proper golf etiquette at all times. Any abuse or disrespect of fellow competitors, officials, spectators, employees of the host facility, or other persons conducting or attending an MJGA sponsored event can be grounds for disqualification from the event and possible rejection of entry for future MJGA events. Such abuse may be verbal or physical or threat thereof and includes, but is not limited to: the use of obscene language, physical damage to property or equipment of the MJGA or host facility. Appropriate golf attire is required at all MGA events. This includes collared shirts with sleeves that must be properly tucked in at all times, walking shorts or slacks. The dress code of the host facility will prevail if there is any question. All MJGA Tournaments are soft spoke only events.
