MGA State Championships:

All MGA State Championships will receive full points, regardless of field size. This includes the Junior Amateur Championship.

Sanctioned Tournament Minimum Numbers:

There will no longer be a  minimum number of players required to be sanctioned. All sanctioned tournaments approved by the board will be sanctioned for points.  Full points for the sanctioned tournament will be awarded if the specific division has a minimum of the following:

Boys Overall 14-18: 24 players

Division A: 24 players

Division B: 16 players

Division C: 10 players

Division D: 6 players

Division E: 3 players

Girls Overall 13-18: 6 players
Girls 16 Division: 6 players

Girls 13 Division: 3 players

Girls Division D: 2 players

Girls Division E: 2 players

The minimum number to receive full points is based on the number who begin playing the tournament in the specific division. If a lower number is in a specific division, the points awarded will be prorated based on the field size in the specific division.

Sanctioned Tournaments with out of state players:

Players who are from out of state, will be counted in the points distribution, but they will not earn MJGA points. (i.e. A player from Arkansas finishes first and second in the Greenwood Jr Championship, a Mississippi player finishes third. The MS player will earn 3rd place points. If a Louisiana player and Mississippi Player tie for fourth place, they will split 4th and fifth place points. The MS player will earn 1/2 of 4th and 5th combined points, the LA player will not earn points). This is also how the MGA player of the year points have been distributed for over 20 years.
