Great playing in the four ball matches, where team Mississippi greatly improved from last year's performance.

Swoope fired a 93. Another female athlete, Caton Blackburn of Vicksburg, fired a 63 in the tournament to become the champion of the D division.

Congratulations to our largest division, the 12-13 boys. This division had 8 players total and the lowest score was David Beard with a score of 77. In our E division there were some low scores and one first time player had a great tournament. Deerfield has a clubhouse with a formal dinning room upstairs for any special events you want to have, they have a swimming pool that is always the hit of the neighborhood during the summer, they have a grill inside if the kids get hungry. If that doesn't get you coming to Deerfield then their excellent golf course will. Deerfield has always been kept in great shape, but it is looking even better now that is in under new management. The Refuge Golf Club

First open for play in 1998, The Refuge in Flowood (near the Jackson International Airport) is an upscale daily fee course that has long held a reputation for natural beauty and some of the best conditions and putting greens in the region.  A core golf course with no residential development within or around the championship caliber 18-hole layout, The Refuge winds its way through stands of towering pines and centuries-old oaks as well as around pristine wetlands.  At the end of 2014, course management undertook an extensive clearing/under-brushing project to open up the course--making it more player-friendly for low and high handicappers alike.  Some of the playing corridors have been effectively doubled in width as a result of the project!  In addition to a fully stocked pro shop and the Refuge Grill, The Refuge is also home to the state's only AquaRange with a new synthetic tee for optional year-round use, the Wee Links three-hole course for juniors, and the new Randy Tupper Academy of Golf--a state of the art indoor/outdoor facility where golfers can improve their game rain or shine.
