Father-Son/Daughter Course Rotation

All teams will play the same rotation each day. Father-Son teams will be flighted after 36 holes of play, by score.

The Father-Daughter teams will be one flight.

Friday - Deerfield Golf Club

Saturday - Country Club of Canton

Sunday - Patrick Farms Golf Club

Format

Entry Procedure

Eligibility

The format of play is a two person scramble. Each team will play each course one day on a rotating basis, with divisions of approximately 60 teams established by the lowest handicap of the two players. After 36 holes, each division will be flighted into three flights of 12 teams. Gift certificates will be awarded to the top four teams in each flight and are redeemable ONLY at the golf course pro shop where they are issued. Ties for flight position and prizes will be broken using the USGA recommended method (last 9 holes, last 6 holes, last 3 holes).

 

 

All players must apply on an official MGA entry form, or through the MGA Online Registration at www.missgolf.org/onlineregistration. Late, incomplete or inaccurate entry forms will not be accepted. Each MGA tournament has a designated field limit and may fill up. Entries are accepted on a first in basis until the entry deadline or until the tournament is full. The MGA Tournament Committee reserves the right to reject a tournament entry at any time. Entries must be received by 12:00 pm Central Time on the published entry deadline date.

At least one team member must be a permanent resident of Mississippi and meet the general eligibility requirements for MGA State Championships, which are as follows: must be a resident of the state of Mississippi for at least 60 days prior to the first round. All players must conform to the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. Participants are required to have an active GHIN Number through a USGA Licensed Mississippi Member club.

All ladies, juniors (12 and under), and men (75 and older) will play a forward tee.

If a player withdraws prior to the entry deadline he will receive a full refund, minus a $25.00 administration fee. If a player withdraws after the entry deadline has passed, the player will not receive a refund.

The Mississippi Golf Association tries to accomodate all requests on a first come first serve basis. Friday morning or afternoon tee times may fill prior to the deadline so please enter early so we can help with your needs.

Rules and Regulations

All entrants agree to abide by all MGA Rules and Regulations concerning dress codes, gentlemanly conduct on the Club premises and course beverage policies. Individuals may not bring beverages on the club premises. Contestants (and their caddies) are to observe proper golf etiquette at all times. Any abuse or disrespect of fellow competitors, officials, spectators, employees of the host facility, or other persons conducting or attending an MGA sponsored event can be grounds for disqualification from the event and possible rejection of entry for future MGA events. Such abuse may be verbal or physical or threat thereof and includes, but is not limited to: the use of obscene language, physical damage to property or equipment of the MGA or host facility. Appropriate golf attire is required at all MGA events. This includes collared shirts with sleeves that must be properly tucked in at all times, walking shorts or slacks. The dress code of the host facility will prevail if there is any question. All MGA Tournaments are soft spoke only events.
